Why PDFs get big
Scanned pages and high-resolution photos make PDFs large. Text alone is small.
Steps
- Open Compress PDF and add your file.
- Choose a level. The standard setting keeps text selectable.
- If it is still too large, turn on the option to convert pages to images. This gives the smallest file but removes selectable text.
- Process the file and download it. The result page shows the size before and after.
Tips
- Images inside a document? Shrink them first with Compress Images.
- Always open the result and check that it still reads well.
